RAWALPINDI: Six shopkeepers booked

RAWALPINDI, Dec 4: District Nazim Rawalpindi Raja Tariq Kiyani has constituted several teams to check the food items being sold in markets.

The teams have been directed to take action against those shopkeepers found selling substandard and unhygienic food items.

One of such teams on Tuesday raided shops in different areas and booked six shopkeepers for selling beef and fish unfit for human consumption. The raids were conducted in several areas, including Sadiqabad, Kurri Road, Faisal Shaheed Road and Railway Road.

The raiding teams also collected samples of some food items and sent them to the Food Testing Laboratory in Lahore. —Reporter
