KARACHI Scintillating hat-trick by Mohmmad Tauseeq fired Faisalabad to a 6-2 victory over Peshawar at the Junior Super Hockey League at Hockey Club of Pakistan on Thursday night.

Faisalabad started brightly against the losers when Nughman Ahmad found the cage in the fifth minute, while player of the match Tauseeq slotted home his first on a short corner in the 25th minute.

Peshawar recovered to reduce the margin four minutes later through Anees Akhtar before Tauseeq grabbed his second in the 43rd minute.

Peshawar seemed to be resilient as they got their second with Bilal Ayub scoring in the 54th minute to make it 3-2.

Faisalabad added three more goals to take an unassailable lead and win the game. Tauseeq completed his treble in the 57th minute before slamming again in the 64th minute for his fourth on short corners.

Mohamad Rizwan sealed the fate of the match when he came into action just two minutes before time.

Two-goal Safeer Hussain helped Multan outplay Karachi 4-3.

The local outfit started with a penalty stroke converted by Zubair, while Multan leveled the score with a Hafiz Zohaib strike in the 21st minute.

Karachi were threatened when Multan went 2-1 up through player of the match Safeer in the 26th minute. But the local side took just three minutes to put the game on an even keel as M. Salman sounded the backboard.

Multan once again put Karachi in a tight spot, converting a penalty stroke through M. Mushtaq five minutes before the end of second half. Karachi were further terrorised when Safeer got his double to make it 4-2

Although Karachi made a last-ditch effort when he scored their third through Zubair on a penalty corner just seconds before fulltime, Multan eventually walked victors earning precious full points.

Two strikes by Taimur Malik gave Abbottabad a convincing 5-0 victory against Quetta.

After a barren first half, Taimur, the player of the match, opened the scoring in the 41st minute before completing his double five minutes later with a penalty stroke.

Asad Abbas added the third in the 53rd minute, Usman Rafiq got the fourth in the 60th minute, while Zohair Rizvi completed the tally three minutes later.

Three goals by M. Umair propelled Sialkot to an emphatic 5-0 win against Islamabad.

Umair opened the account with a goal when the game was barely two minutes old. His hat-trick chance was, however, spoiled by teammate Dawood Khalid who got the second in the 24th minute.

Umair slammed home for his second in the 33rd minute, while Dawood once slotted home to make it 4-0 in the 46th minute. Umair wrapped up the proceedings with a 50th-minute strike.

M. Jaffar of Sialkot was declared the player of the match.
