ISLAMABAD Top-ranking Pakistan squash players Farhan Mehboob and Aamir Atlas will be appearing in the Saudi International Squash Tournament scheduled to be held in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia from Dec 13 to 18.

According to an official of the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), the tournament carries a purse of US$250,000.

He said 'The players are undergoing strenuous training at the Mushaf Squash Complex in Islamabad,' while adding that the PSF is also working on the second notch of younger players from different regions of the country.

'The young players are undergoing training with international coach Faheem Gul,' he informed.

But despite the massive monetary efforts engineered by the PSF, Pakistani players have failed to clinch any international squash title for the last many years.

'We intend to keep on training these players ... however, it is up to the players themselves to put in all their energies into winning international titles,' he said.

Pakistan's emerging squash players Waqar Mehboob and Maria Toor, too, lost their respective matches despite being given an opportunity by the federation to feature in the NSC series held in Malaysia.
