U-18 hockey squad named for AHF Cup

LAHORE The Pakistan Hockey Federation on Sunday named an 18-member under-18 boys' squad for the AHF Cup.

 

The selection committee comprising chief selector Hasan Sardar, Rana Mujahid, Khalid Bashir, Farhat Khan and Mohammad Shafiq announced the squad in a press conference after two days' trials at the National Hockey Stadium.

 

The tournament will be played at Yangon, Myanmar, from Nov 11 to 22.

 

Twelve teams are divided in two groups. Pool 'A' consists of Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Chinese Taipei, Sri Lanka and Myanmar, while pool 'B' comprises South Korea, Japan, Bangladesh, Singapore, Uzbekistan and Thailand.

Forwards Mohammad Umair, Arslan Qadir, Mohammad Javed, Bilal Qadir, Khurram Shahzad, Dilber,

Mohammad Adnan, Ayub Ali.

 

Standbys Adnan Shakoor, Mohammad Ali, Adnan Latif, Dawood Khalid, Safeer, Mehdi Abbas, Sarfraz, Bilal Mehmood and Sheharyar.
