KARACHI Pakistan's top cuemen, Muhammad Sajjad and Asjad Iqbal, stormed in the pre-quarterfinal rounds of 26th Asian Snooker Championship in Chanthaburi, Thailand, on Tuesday, APP reported.
Pakistan's national champion Muhammad Sajjad topped 'Group G' when he routed Nhat Thanh Nguyen of Vietnam 4-1 with a spectacular clearance of 120, his second of the tournament.
The 26-year-old Sajjad started the opening frame with a break of 52 and kept the opponent under pressure with controlled potting, break-building and great positional play to record a 75-24, 69-31, 104-23, 24-59, 128-07 victory. It was Sajjads fourth straight win of the tournament.
Asjad Iqbal who won three of his four league matches also qualified for the knock-out rounds where he will take on Sitthidead Sackbiang of Laos. Sajjad will take on Lee Chun Wai of Hong Kong.
The last 16 rounds of the competition will be played on Thursday.
