Squads for the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto International Boxing Tournament have been sent by 11 countries.

LAHORE United Arab Emirates, Thailand and Mongolia have also confirmed their participation in Shaheed Benazir Bhutto International Boxing Tournament being held in Karachi next month.

A spokesman of Pakistan Boxing Federation said 11 countries have confirmed their participation in the event, in which a total of 26 foreign nations are expected participate.

'So far China, Hungry, Iraq, Kenya, Nepal, Myanmar, Chinese Taipei, Bangladesh, UAE, Magnolia and Thailand have confirmed their participation,' he said.

The PBF spokesmen said the entries received so far have being sent to the Pakistan Sports Board for further necessary procedures in to facilitate them in the visa process at their respective ends.

Meanwhile the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) has appointed Dr. Francis Rajakulendran from Sri Lanka as ITO (Medical Jury) in absence of Dr. Jerry Yu from Chinese Taipei.

ASBC has also appointed Nandigjav Tsevegsuren from Magnolia as a neutral judge in the mega event.  —APP
