MITHI, Feb 1 The Chhachhro police have registered a case on the complaint of a PML activist against the PPP candidate for PS-62 seat, Nagarparkar, Sharjeel Inam Memon, and others for firing in Sakrio village of Chhachhro taluka.

An exchange of aerial fire took place when supporters of Dr Ghulam Hyder Samejo of the PML, candidate for NA-230 seat, and supporters of PPP candidate Sharjeel Inam Memon found themselves face-to-face when Mr Memon and his workers arrived for campaigning on Thursday in village Sakrio.

Both the groups had blamed each other for starting the fire.

On the complaint of PML activist Dawood Samejo (a relative of Dr Ghulam Hyder Samejo), police registered the case against Sharjeel, Inayat Ali Rahoomo (former MPA), Bherulal Maheshwari, Siddiq Halepoto, Abdul Ghani Khoso, Arbab Ali Samejo, Habib Samejo and others.

Fifteen people had been nominated in FIR, and 30 others are unidentified.

Mr Sharjeel alleged that police were not registering his case against the supporters of Dr Ghulam Hyder who, according to him, fired on Mr Memon's men.

COMPLAINT In a letter sent to the Election Commission of Pakistan, the PPP candidate for PS-61 seat, Mithi, Pesumal Akrani, has alleged that Mithi SHO Allah Jurio Sahar has impounded vehicles hired by him for election campaigning.

Mr Akrani alleged that the SHO impounded two vehicles and put drivers in lock-up on Tuesday.

The SHO had compiled a list of vehicles, hired by the PPP candidates and threatening the owners of vehicles of dire consequences, he alleged.

Pesumal urged the Election Commission to take notice of the police action.

SUSPENDED Nagarparkar education ADO Umed Ali Rahoomo during a visit to Mithrio, Ranpario, Danbhario, Tagusar and other villages, suspended some primary schoolteachers.

The suspended teachers complained to the journalists that they had gone to attend a PPP gathering in Chhachhro on Tuesday after applying for casual leave which is on record.

However, the ADO Education, who is a supporter of the PML, had suspended them, which is as political victimisation, they said.
