HYDERABAD, March 9 The Kazi Sattar group suffered two setbacks in the annual elections of the Hyderabad District Bar Association and lost the posts of joint secretary and library secretary which were grabbed by Nadeem Khan Tareen and Amjad Sahto, respectively.

However, the rest of Kazi Sattar panel emerged victorious and won the posts of president, vice-president, general secretary and library secretary.

The elections were held on Saturday and vote counting continued till early Sunday morning.

According to the results, Chaudhry Bashir Gujjar won the seat of president, Nisar Durrani that of general secretary and Abdul Khaliq Leghari that of vice-president.

Shama Mughal of Kazi Sattar's panel lost to Nadeem Tareen while Mukhtar Khanzada of the same panel was defeated by Amjad Sahto, who was backed by independent lawyers.

Zahoor A. Baloch once again lost while contesting against Chaudhry Bashir. Senior advocate Rafiq Ahmed Qureshi, who was also in the run for the post of the president, was another loser.

Elected senior members of the managing committee include Chakkar Khan, Allah Bachai, Abdul Salam Abbasi and Asma Hameed and its junior members are Imran Malik, Khalida Parveen, Ashfaq Ali and Abdullah Qazi.
