ISLAMABAD Troops of Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps including medical teams have launched relief and rescue operations in the quake-stricken areas of Ziarat and Pishin districts.
According to reports, the quake has mostly affected  villages of Ziarat and Pishin and now relief and rescue operations has been launched.
Army helicopters are also taking part in the operation.
The villages where the operation has been launched by the Pakistan Army and FC troops include Warchoon and Kawas of Ziarat district besides Toba Achakzai of Pishin district and their surrounding areas.
ISPR sources divulging details to APP about the relief and rescue operation said that helicopters of Pakistan Army Aviation, medical teams of Army Medical Corps, Engineering Corps and allied machinery were taking part in the operation.
Sources said that sorties of C-130 aircraft of Pakistan Airforce are also being carried out to supply relief goods to the people.
A number of mobile dispensaries of Pakistan Army were also providing medical assistance to the injured while the helicopters were carrying out sorties to lift the critically injured to the major hospitals in the province.
They said all the hospitals in the province were on high alert and the staff and medicine stores had been beefed up.
