BHC takes note of smuggling

QUETTA, Feb 1 The Balochistan High Court on Friday took suo motu notice of wheat and rice smuggling to Afghanistan.

Justice Kalash Nath Kohli issued notices to the provincial chief secretary, Balochistan Collector of Customs and inspector-general of Frontier Corps on the basis of a newspaper report saying that authorities had failed to end smuggling.

The notice said the issue was of public interest and concerned the interest of citizens. —Correspondent
