Journalist gunned down in Mardan

MARDAN, Aug 14 A noted journalist and correspondent of a private TV channel Sadique Bacha was gunned down by his rivals -n broad daylight in front of his office here on Friday.

Three years ago a local of Hoti identified as Jaffar Khan was gunned down by unidentified persons and his relatives suspected that Bacha was involved in the killing.

Bacha was coming to his office for Independence Day coverage when his rivals, Changez Khan and Babar Khan, opened fire on him killing him on the spot. The assailants managed to escape from the scene.

Brother of the victim, Syed Zada, has lodged an FIR against the accused at Hoti Police Station.

Meanwhile, a meeting of Mardan Press Club was held with its president Musarrat Aassi in the chair. The meeting condemned the brutal killing of the journalist and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
