Hyderabad a divisive issue: MQM

Published May 19, 2010

MIRPURKHAS May 18 Muttahida Qaumi Movement coordination committee member Ashfaq Mangi has said that so-called nationalists and feudal elements are trying to divide permanent residents of Sindh by raising the non-issue of restoration of previous status of Hyderabad district, but the people of the province will foil such conspiracies through their unity.

He said that like G.M Syed, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Ms Benazir Bhutto, MQM leader Altaf Hussain also had right on Sindh because he belonged to the province.

Talking to media reporters at MQM membership camp at Post Office roundabout here on Tuesday, Mr Mangi said that the historical convention of the party at Bhit Shah on May 28 would play an important role in the politics of the province.

MQM MPA Faheem Altafi said that before and during the convention, 115 membership camps would be set up in different parts of the province, including Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah, Sanghar, Tando Allahyar, Jamshoro, Umerkot, Thatta and Badin.—Correspondent
