NAWABSHAH, March 14 A boy was killed and another suffered injuries from stray bullets which their relatives claimed came from an MQM procession when it passed near their home in Gharibabad near Ajmeri Chowk on Sunday night.

The procession was going to a general workers meeting at Islamia Girls High School when some participants reportedly started firing in the air and Ali Hassan and Jehanzeb were hit. Ali Hassan died on the spot and Jehanzeb was injured.

The boys' relatives staged a sit-in at Shaheed Chowk in protest against the inci- dent and burnt tyres on roads.

Later, SP Rana Nasrullah persuaded them to end the protest and assured that an FIR would be registered if the people who fired in the air were identified.
