QUETTA, April 17 A Balochistan High Court bench has issued notices to senior government officials in two cases of missing people.
The bench comprising Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Justice Mehta Kalash Nath Kohli was hearing a constitutional petition filed by Masti Khan Qambarani and an application of Sahiba Bibi.
Masti Khan, a resident of Quetta, submitted that his brother Chakar Qambarani, a member of the Baloch Republican Party, was arrested by intelligence agencies on March 2. He prayed the court to direct the respondents to produce his brother before a court.
Sahiba Bibi, a resident of New Kahan village, stated in her application that her relatives Chacha Hussain, Ahmed Ali, Rehman and Sanaullah were arrested from Chaman on June 1 last year by the Frontier Corps personnel. She informed the court that her family approached the FC and police officials but there was no response.
The court issued notices to the deputy attorney general, federal interior secretary, provincial home secretary, and commandants of the ISI, MI, FIA, FC, besides Qila Abdullah's DPO and the SHO of the Civil Lines police station.—Correspondent
