BHC issues notices to PIA officials

Published November 28, 2009

QUETTA, Nov 27 A division bench of the Balochistan High Court has issued pre-admission notices to the secretary of defence ministry, general manager of PIA and director of the airline in a petition seeking promotion to a vacant post on Balochistan quota in accordance with the law.

The bench comprising Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel and Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mengal was hearing a constitutional petition filed by Mohiuddin Wardak, the general manager of PIA's Quetta station.

The petitioner submitted that in PIA the quota was ignored for vacant positions and the posts were often awarded to people who didn't deserve them, in violation of articles 4, 25 and 27 of the Constitution.

Advocate Amanullah Kanrani appeared on behalf of the petitioner.
