A tribute to Ahmad Rahi

LAHORE, Nov 12 Intellectuals and literati on Thursday paid a tribute to a known Punjabi poet of yesteryears, Ahmad Rahi, at a function held at the Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture. The event was arranged to mark the poet's birth anniversary.

Popular Punjabi film songs written by Mr Rahi were screened. The speakers paid tributes to the late poet.

Pilac Director Abbas Najmi said Rahi was an 'egoist' who never made compromises in his life.

Pilac Director-General Dr Liaquat Ali Khan Niazi, who welcomed the audience, said Rahi had a great contribution to the Punjabi poetry. He also updated the audience on the Jiangsu Cultural Center established in Pilac and invited them to join various classes such as cooking and on language.
