BHC orders steps to save forests

QUETTA, April 15: A division bench of Balochistan High Court on Tuesday directed the provincial government to adopt strict measures to ensure protection of forests in Mehargarh area.

The bench comprising Chief Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed and Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani issued the directive on the application of Haji Lashkari Raisani praying that inappropriate steps by the law enforcement agencies were leading to destruction of forests.

On another application of Advocate General Salauddin Mengal assured the court that the list of cases registered in the Dhadar police station would be submitted in the next hearing. The court took serious notice of the failure of the SHO concerned to comply with its orders for submission of the list.
