HYDERABAD: Uplift works reviewed

HYDERABAD, Dec 5 Taking notice of the slow pace of work on various uplift schemes, District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has directed the relevant officials to award the contracts of all such projects to other contractors.

He said that timely completion of all projects must be ensured.

He was taking a briefing from officials of the district government and the consultants at a meeting held here.

The meeting reviewed the progress of various development schemes.

Reviewing the ongoing work on the old Phulelli bridge, he said that the work on this important bridge should be completed without any further delay.

He said that a diversion should be created on Gharib Nawaz bridge road leading to railway station and the work should be completed as soon as possible. He said that in case any difficulty was experienced in the use of excavator, the work should be carried out manually.

He directed the district works committee to complete the work on sewerage lines on Hali road as soon as possible in cooperation with the taluka nazim Latifabad and added that in order to facilitate parking and traffic in Rani Bagh the existing gate should be used only as an exit gate while for entrance, another gate should be constructed.

He directed that irrespective of the package, under which any development scheme was being completed, constant monitoring should be carried out and all the completed works should be rechecked to remove any fault.

He said a certificate of all the completed works with the report of the relevant officer should be submitted to his secretariat.
