SUKKUR, Feb 5 Taking suo motu notice of two different cases, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar has summoned the Sukkur DPO and Tharparkar DPO in the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Feb 11.

The Sukkur police on Jan 29 had recovered the dead body of a kidnapped girl, Farida, 7, from a house in Qureshi Goth, Sukkur. The house belonged to Rafiq Ahmed Sheikh.

Earlier, Noor Mohammad Chachar, resident of Qureshi Goth in an application to the Sukkur DPO had stated that on Jan 20 his daughter, Farida, went outside to play never to return home.

He had said that he was afraid that some one had kidnapped her. On this complaint, Sukkur DPO Sharjeel Kharal had ordered SPO Site to probe into the matter and recover the girl.

Acting on a tip-off, the Site police conducted a raid on the house of Rafiq Ahmed Shaikj and took into its custody Rafiq Shaikh, Ismail Shaikh, Shoukat Shaikh and Imtiaz Shaikh. During interrogation, the arrested suspects confessed of having kidnapped the girl and of killing her. On their indication, the police exhumed the body of the girl from the house of Rafique Shaikh, which was then shifted to Civil Hospital Sukkur for autopsy. The Police registered a case against the four accused.

Our Mithi correspondent adds A person, Arjun Meghwar, was arrested by the Nagarparkar police and was allegedly stripped naked by the police officials.

Arjun was arrested in connection with a clash between members of the Meghwar and the Shoro communities in Kasbo village, Nagarparkar taluka. The clash had reportedly erupted over cattle grazing in the fields belonging to the Meghwars. Three people of both sides were injured and counter cases were registered at the Nagarparkar police station.

Arjun alleged that before being arrested he was stripped in the presence of his wife and daughters by officials of the Nagarparkar police at his house. He also accuses the police of torturing him.
