NAWABSHAH, March 30 A large number of sacked employees of Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited held a rally and a demonstration here on Monday in protest against the bank administration's dilly-dallying on issuing them joining orders.

Ghulam Hussain Mughal, Qambar Lashari, Ghulam Fareed and Mumbai Jamali who led the protest said that the government had reinstated sacked employees of all government departments but the management of ZTBL was dragging its feet on the issue.

It had not so far issued them joining orders, they complained and added that they were sacked during the second tenure of PPP government in 1996.

They urged the government to direct the ZTBL management to issue them joining orders and threatened to commit self-immolation outside the Zardari House in Nawabshah if they were not given the joining orders.

UTPs Many under-trial prisoners of the district jail held a demonstration and a sit-in in the district and session court on Monday in protest against delay in their trial.

Ghulam Rasool Khaskheli, Mohammed Usman Lakho, Shah Nawaz Khoso, Gul Sher Rind and other prisoners complained that they had been under trial for more than four years but their cases had not moved ahead.

They said their lawyers were not being given chance to argue their cases and demanded that the judges speed up their cases to give them justice in time.
