NAWABSHAH, April 22 Member National Assembly Faryal Talpur has directed the district administration to conduct a detailed enquiry into the fire incident in Pai Forest near Sakrand a day ago.

Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, coordinator to the MNA, said that she had expressed concern over loss of trees, plants and saplings in the forest and called for an enquiry.

Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, DCO Khurshid Naeem Malik, DPO Rukhsar Ahmed Khuhawar, Divisional Forest Officer Zafar Wasan, District Forest Officer Tariq Irfan, Honorary Game Warden Saleem Raza Jalbani visited the affected part of the forest. The DCO directed the deputy district officer of Sakrand to conduct an enquiry into the incident including cause of fire, losses and presence of staff and submit the report within a week.

DDO Revenue of Sakrand Javed Anwar Shaikh said that fire burnt down trees on at least 5-6 acres. He would record statements and visit the area to prepare report, he said.

Fire erupted in Pai Forest on Tuesday which affected trees of eucalyptus, babol and Kandi over five acres.
