SAHIWAL, April 21: The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz)’s local leaders are divided over nomination of secretary-general, whose seat had been vacated some time ago.

According to reports, Rao Muhammad Aslam had been removed from the office of the PML-N city president. I Z Bhatti, who was the party’s secretary-general at that time, replaced the president with the approval of the provincial and local leaders.

Subsequently, I Z Bhatti

nominated Advocate Siraj Ahmad secretary-general of the party.

However, Youth Wing District President Amjad Rashid objected to the nomination and furnished his candidature for the slot.

He was nominated the secretary-general by the provincial leaders, but Mr Bhatti refused to recognise this appointment.

Sources said the party’s District President Malik Nadeem Kamran and Secretary-general Ehsanul Haq Idrees also have developed differences over the issue.

The PML-N provincial president has asked Saad Rafiq to visit Sahiwal and resolve the differences among the local leaders.

DECLARED PO: A judicial magistrate on the plea of the Noorshah police declared an electricity theft accused proclaimed offender.

The magistrate directed the police to arrest accused Pir Fazal Shah Khagga, and produce him in court within four months.
