KARACHI, Jan 29 More encounters between unevenly-matched sides saw one region totally outclassing the other in Under-19 National Women's Cricket Championship on Friday as well.
In the first match, played at the Regional Cricket Academy (RCA) ground at the National Stadium Karachi (NSK) saw Karachi beating Faisalabad by 10 wickets. Winning the toss and putting Faisalabad into bat first, they sent them packing off to the pavilion for 47 runs in 11.5 overs. Ayesha Dilshad with 20 was the top scorer. The others couldn't even reach double figures.
Karachi's medium pacer Hiba Batool was brilliant with the leather when she took four wickets for just two runs. Hiba was also named Player of the Match later.
In reply the hosts reached their target in 7.3 overs while losing no wickets. Opener Ayesha Zafar got 19 and her partner Rabia Shah 15 with the rest of the runs awarded to them in the shape of 14 extras.
The second match between Rawalpindi and Islamabad played at the South End Club was won by the latter by five wickets.
The toss was won by Islamabad who decided to put Rawalpindi into bat first. Surviving the entire 25 overs, they put on 104 runs with the 52 extras given away by Islamabad becoming the major contributor of runs. Irum Mukhtar picked up three wickets for 15 and was also named Player of the Match later.
Islamabad reached their target in 15.4 overs and for the loss of five wickets. Anum Noor and Javeria Salar batting at number six and seven, respectively, remained not out to put on most of the runs. Anum got 34 and Javeria 25.
The third match at the RCA ground saw Abbottabad beating Sialkot by three wickets. Again the winners won the toss to put their opponents into bat first. Sialkot made 137 for the loss of six wickets in the given quota of 25 overs and Abbottabad chased that target in two balls short of 25 overs and for the loss of seven wickets.
Rabia Muzaffar who made 24 runs for Sialkot while also taking a wicket and Anum Bibi who scored half century (52 runs) for Abbottabad shared the Payer of the Match prize.
In the fourth and last match of the day, Multan, another strong team, thrashed Hyderabad by 193 runs at the South End Club. Multan won the toss and elected to bat. They put on 221 runs for the loss of five wickets.
Sana Gulzar scored the second century of the event by contributing 106 runs off 79 balls with the help of 15 fours.
In reply, Hyderabad were all out in just 16.2 overs for a meagre 28. Sana Gulzar had even more fun bowling when she took three wickets while giving away just four runs. No guesses for who got the Player of the Match prize.

Abbottabad v Sialkot
