Talha grabs U-15 tennis crown

KARACHI, Nov 30 Promising Talha Zubair Surmawala made an impressive return after a layoff when he carved out a straight victory over Saud Shoaib to win boys' under-15 crown in the second leg of STA Satellite Circuit at beach View Club on Tuesday.

Talha, who missed the first leg and got a wildcard for the second, beat another fast improving Saud Shoaib 6-3, 6-4 in the title clash. Both the finalists have toppled top seeds in the pre-finals.

The boys' and girls' under-13 singles title went to Azhar Abdul Qadir who stunned top seed Hasan Farooq 6-3, 6-4 in the final. The latter is also the winner of first leg.

According to organisers, the third leg of the event will be played in the last week of December.
