LAHORE, Dec 8 Six more matches were decided on the third day of 25th National Women's Hockey Championship at National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.
Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Railways, Bahawalpur, Higher Education Commission and Sukkur all emeged as winners.
Gujranwala blasted Rawalpindi 8-2 after having led the first half 4-1. Tahira Parveen stole the limelight with four goals in the 16th, 27th, 55th and 57th minute.
Samina Azam scored three in the 5th, 53rd and 65th minute, while Atiya scored one in the 9th minute. Ambreen Kausar scored two goals for Rawalpindi in the 24th and 46th minute.
Faisalabad outplayed Lahore 4-1 after taking 3-1 lead in the first half. Anees of Faisalabad struck two in the 2nd and 24th minute, while Maria and Irum added one each in the 3rd and 56th minute. Ayesha Azad scored the only one for Lahore in the 10th minute.
Railways taught a lesson to Rangers 7-0. At half time the score was 3-0. Hina Kanwal scored five in the 5th, 18th, 29th, 43rd and 45th minute, while Shahida Parveen and Muqadas chipped in with one goal each in 48th and 56th minutes.
Bahawalpur carved out a hard 2-1 win against Sargodha, after leading the first half 1-0.
The HEC earned fist victory when they notched a 1-0 win against Pakistan Board.
Sukkur eliminated Larkana 13-0. At half time the score was 2-0. Zakia Gul scored six (10th, 52nd, 55th, 56th, 66th and 67th minute), Nain Tara scored four (13th, 50th, 57th and 68th minutes), Rozina added two (69th, 70th) and Carol one in the 62nd minute.
