Sattar claims snooker crown

KARACHI, Aug 21 Fast rising cueist Abdul Sattar clinched the 18th Sindh Cup snooker tournament when he defeated Irfan Rasheed Khan 5-3 in the final at the Indus Snooker Parlour on Friday.

Sattar lost the first, fifth and seventh frames but managed to win the remaining five to claim the match. The scores were 47-77, 71-41, 72-20, 116-00, 51-60, 76-37, 22-72, 63-59.

Talented Sattar of the Roshan Club Baldia Town produced fine potting and cue control to chalk out a brilliant break of 99 in the fourth frame.

The winner received the trophy and cash prize of Rs5,000 while Irfan Rasheed of the Area Club received Rs3,000.—APP
