Ramazan Cup hockey

KARACHI, Aug 28 Asim Khalil XI and Munawar-uz-Zaman XI emerged victorious in Karachi Hockey Association's 16th Ramazan Cup Hockey Tournament at the Olympian Iftikhar Syed Sports Academy here on Saturday afternoon.

Asim Khalil XI edged past Rauf XI 3-2. Two goals for the winners were scored by Mohammad Yousuf (15th and 55th mins) and one by Mohammad Imran (25th min). For the losing side, Mohammad Farhan and Amir Iqbal scored one goal each in the 20th and 29th minutes, respectively.

In the second match, despite taking the lead first Saleem Sherwani XI were outclassed by Munawar-uz-Zaman XI 7-2. Aijaz Rasool got a hat-trick when he scored in the 14th, 17th and 19th minutes while Sohail Abbas scored two goals in the 35th and 40th minutes.

The remaining two goals for the winners were scored by Mohammad Rizwan (28th min) and Adil Hussain (59th min). The goals for the losing side came through Mohammad Irfan (second min) and Umerullah (50th min).
