LAHORE, May 7 Three goals each by Rao Khalid and Waseem Abbas helped Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) pummel Balochistan 12-0 on the third day of the 29th National Junior Hockey Championship here on Friday.

PIA seized a 6-0 lead in the first half as it dominated proceedings from the start. Rao Khalid slammed home in the seventh, 11th and 45th minutes, while Waseem fired home in the 17th, 38th and 63rd minutes. Mohammad Adnan (25th and 60th mins) and Muzammil Bhatti (53rd and 62nd mins) added two goals apiece. Mohammad Rizwan (fourth min) and Sohail Kazmi (22nd min) chipped in with one goal each.

In another high scoring match, five goals by Sheeraz Ali enabled Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to bulldoze Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Colours 13-0.

SSGC strengthened the position by leading the first half by 8-0.

Sheeraz found the net in the eighth, 25th, 50th, 65th and 66th minutes. Mohammad Safeer (fifth and 55th mins), Arsalan Haider (23rd and 57th mins), Akbar Ali (ninth min), Umair Yousaf (16th min), Zohaib Ashraf (21st min) and Kashif Shah (35th min) were the other scorers.

Customs also mauled Sindh Colours 7-1 after taking a 2-0 lead at the breather.

Khalid Bhatti (15th and 38th mins), Rao Amir (21st min), Salman (54th min), Hafiz Zohaib (59th min), Rana Umair (60th min) and Amir Ashiq (62nd min) were the scorers. For the losing side, the solitary goal came through Samad, who converted a short-corner in the 43rd minute.

National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) also enjoyed the smashing of the provinces as it carved out a 12-1 win against Sindh Whites. The bankers led the first half by 6-0.

For NBP, Mohammad Dilbar (14th, 34th and 69th mins), Ayub Ali (19th and 26th mins), Mohammad Zubair (21st min), Ali Hassan Afraz (30th min), Khurram Shahzad (37th and 43rd mins), Zohaib Khan (57th min) and Mohammad Faisal Qadir (60th and 68th mins) shared the scoring honours. For the losers, Asim Abbasi struck in the 54th minute.

Punjab Whites was the lone provincial team to earn victory on Friday by defeating Pakistan Board 6-1 after leading by 4-1 in the first half.

Punjab (Whites) Waqas Ahmad (third min), Hafiz Omer Sardar (18th min) Ali Sher (20th min), Razzaq (22nd min), Fareed Ahmad (51st min) and Mohammad Arslan (69th min).

For the Board, Mohammad Bilal struck a goal in the 33rd minute.

Four more matches will be played on the fourth day of the championship on Saturday PIA v Punjab (Reds); Police v Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (Colours); Punjab (Greens) v Sindh (Colours); Sindh (Whites) v Pakistan Board.
