LAHORE, May 19 National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and Customs entered the final of the 29th National Junior Hockey Championship at the National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.

NBP trounced Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) 2-1 with Khurram Shahzad (19th min) and Ayub Ali (27th min) scoring field goals. The bankers wasted all three penalty-corners. For SSGC, Kashif Shah banged home the solitary goal in the 46th minute, by a field attempt, as the losers also squandered one short-corner and penalty stroke. Three goals by Rao Amir and two by Khalid Bhatti were enough for Customs to topple Police 5-3 in the second semi-final.

Amir fired home in the 10th, 18th and 69th minutes, through field attempts, while Khalid found the cage in the 26th, and 42nd minutes, converting short-corner. In all, Customs earned four penalty-corners.

For the losing side, Tasawar Abbas scored two, one each through a penalty stroke and penalty-corner. Kamran Asif added one goal off a field attempt.

The final will be played on Thursday after the third position match between Police and SSGC.
