KARACHI, Feb 27 Prolific scorer Sher Mohammad guided Mirpurkhas to an emphatic 48-17 victory over Sukkur in the opening fixtures of the Sindh Inter-district men's basketball championship which got into action at the Arambagh floodlit court on Friday.

Sher Mohammad was on a shooting spree as he top scored with 22 for the winners who led 17-8 at half time. Ejaz Ahmed contributed 11. Tahir Irshad was the main scorer for losers with a score of 11.

In another match, Karachi district East inflicted 62-13 victory over Jamshoro in the one-sided encounter.

Abdullah stole the limelight for winners with a score of 16 while Dinesh and Taha scored eight points apiece. Waheed scored 8 for losers.

In the third fixture, Larkana got the better of Badin 39-23 after enjoying 19-9 lead at half time.

Anwar (15) and Daniyal (13) were the leading scorers for winners while Rafiq and Danish contributed 13 and 10 respectively for the losing side.

Teams of twelve affiliated units of the Sindh Amateur Basketball Association (SABA) are participating in the five- day event which concludes on March 3.
