Medicare Veterans win

KARACHI, June 17 Medicare Veterans defeated Professional Veterans by 46 runs in the Javed Shaikh Memorial Veterans T/20 Cricket Tournament, played at the Asghar Ali Shah Cricket Stadium under Floodlights on Tuesday night.

Professional Veterans won the Toss and elected to field. Batting First Medicare Veterans scored 177-7 in the allotted 20 overs. Shaukat Mirza hit four boundaries and one six in his 58 runs off 38 balls while Dr. Anjum Fazal scored 53 in 43 balls. For Professional Veterans Haji Ashraf and Arshad Nawaz took 1 wicket each for 31 and 26 runs respectively.

Professional Veterans, in reply, were restricted to 131-9 in the stipulated 20 overs. Tariq Alam topscored with 49 off 37 Balls with three boundaries. For Medicare Veterans Mehmood Rasheed and Anjum took 1 wicket each for 16 and 22 runs respectively.

Dr. Anjum was declared Man of the Match for his all-rounded performance.—Agencies
