Larkana to face Karachi in final

KARACHI, Dec 23 Larkana and Karachi reached the final of the NBP Sindh Inter-district Hockey Championship by beating their respective opponents at the Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) on Wednesday.

In the first semi-final, Larkana thrashed Nawabshah 9-0. Centre-forward Zahid Ali scored three to record his second consecutive hat-trick while brothers right-in Muharram Ali and left-in Majid Ali added two each with centre-half Ashiq Hussain and right-out Mohammad Javed scoring one each.

The match was umpired by Tanvir Arshad and Mohammad Arshad. Olympian Iftikhar Syed was the chief guest on the occasion.

In the other semi-final, Karachi beat Hyderabad 2-1. Right-in Shahzad Hanif and centre-half Alle Hasan scored one each for the winners. Hyderabad's lone goal was scored by their left-out Mohammad Aamir.

The match was umpired by Ghufran Bukhari and Zulfiqar Hussain. Secretary KHA Mohammad Farooq was the chief guest on the occasion. The final will be played at 3.00pm. Sindh Sports Minister Dr Mohammad Ali Shah will be the chief guest.
