KESC, Medicam XI reach semi-finals

KARACHI, Sept 16 Reigning champions KESC and Medicam XI qualified for the last-four stage of the 22nd Aga Khan Gymkhana State Life Ramazan Festival Twenty20 cricket tournament after winning their respective quarter-finals at the AKG Ground on Tuesday.

The KESC eased to a seven-wicket win after bowling out Pak Gymkhana for 103. Veteran all-rounder Arif Mahmood was the wrecker-in-chief by grabbing four wickets for 13 runs to be named man-of-the-match. Leg-spinner Rizwan Khan took two for three in one over and off-spinner Misbah Khan two for 31.

Rameez Raja remained unbeaten with 34 when the match reached its expected conclusion with KESC making 104 for three in the 17th over.

Medicam XI were even more impressive as they thrashed the over-rated A.O. CC side by nine wickets with man-of-the-match Haaris Ayaz taking three for 14 in four overs to restrict A.O. CC to 88-9 in the allotted 20 overs.

Medicam XI raced to victory by reaching their target of 89 in 11.3 overs.
