KARACHI, Dec 21 Hyderabad and Karachi totally outclassed their opponents on the first day of the NBP Sindh Inter-district Hockey Tournament at the Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) here on Monday.

Hyderabad thrashed Jacobabad 11-1 with left-out Mohammad Irfan and right-in Mohammad Rizwan scoring hat-tricks.

Irfan scored four goals and Rizwan three. Centre-forward Ahsan Khan added another two with reserve centre-forward Ahsan Wajahat and right fullback Adnan Hamid contributing one each.

Jacobabad's consolation goal was scored by their left-in Shahnawaz Baloch.

The match was umpired by Raja Anwar Kamal and Faisal Ismail.

The other match saw Karachi giving a 17-0 drubbing to Mirpurkhas.

Centre-forward Alle Hasan (four goals), left-out Yasir Ghafur (three goals) and right fullback Ali Mehdi (three goals) all scored hat-ticks for Karachi.

The remaining goals were scored by left-in Rizwan Khan (two goals), reserve left-in Sohail Ashraf (two goals), right-out Uzair Khan (one goal), centre-half Sami Khan (one goal) and right-in Mohammad Ali (one goal).

The match was umpired by Akhlaq Bukhari and Ghufran Bukhari.

Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by NBP's SEVP and Group Chief, Audit Department, Imam Bakhsh Baloch.

Tuesday's fixtures Larkana v Sukkur at 11.00am; Nawabshah v Khairpur at 3.30pm.
