Iraq boxing squad arrives

KARACHI, Dec 30 A 14-member Iraq squad arrived here on Wednesday to feature in the Benazir Bhutto International Boxing Championship being staged here at the Sports Complex Gymnasium from Jan 1 to 9.

The Iraqi contingent included eight pugilists and six officials.

Iraqi team included Hasan Ali Shakir (48kg), Hussein Aqeel Salim (54kg), Mustafa Qasim Abd Tareef (57kg), Raeed Hashim Zgher (60kg), Ahmed Jassim (69kg), Thoalfokar Abd Al Kareem (75kg) and Mustafa Mohammad Challoob (81kg).

The team officials included Ghazi Abdul Sammad Ahmed (manager), Raad Khraibet (team officials), Hussein Jasim Khalaf (coach), Tareq Hilo Hameed (coach) and Sajid Rabbi Alnami.

In the meantime a meeting of the organising committee was held here at the office of Sindh Sports Minister Dr Mohammad Ali Shah to review the security arrangements and discuss other related matters.—APP
