Inter-school basketball

KARACHI, Oct 13 The sixth AKU Inter-school basketball tournament entered quarter-finals stage on Monday.

The City PAF Chapter, Karachi Grammar, CAS, Pakistan Steel Cadet College, Beaconhouse (PECHS), British International School, Shahwilayat Public School and Bayview School qualified for the last-eight stage of the event.

On the final day of the league rounds, the British International School defeated the Meritorious School Network 43-23. Shanil Poonja spearheaded his team to victory by contributing a whooping 29 points.

The Bayview High School beat the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School 31-24. Haider Raza scored 18 points for the winners. Beaconhouse (PECHS) overpowered Qamar-e-Bani Hashim School 31-21. Ahmed Yousuf (18), Samad Ali (12) and Mohammad Raza (10) were the main contributors for the victors.—APP
