KARACHI, Feb 2 Mohammad Arif Amani slammed a hat-trick as hosts Habib Public School overwhelmed Fatmyah Public School 13-0 in the six-team opener of HPS Inter-school hockey tournament at their own ground on Monday.

The Habibians led 9-0 at half time and added four more goals to their tally on resumption.

Other scorers were Ali Khan (3), Arif Hussain (3), Arsalan (2) and Hyder Raza (2).

Four other institutions competing in the single league tournament are BVS School, The Educators, Ghulaman-e-Abbas and Qamar bin Hashim School.

Meanwhile, 19 schools have confirmed their participation in the HPS Inter-school gymnastics tournament which begins from Feb 7.

The Inter-school basketball final between Habib School and St. Patrick's School which was put off due to Moharram and winter break will be played on Feb 9.
