Hockey trials on Sept 4 and 5

LAHORE, Aug 26 Trials to select the Pakistan team for the World Cup hockey qualifiers will be held at the National Hockey Stadium (NHS) on Sept 4 and 5, as the first phase of conditioning camp for probables, set up here, winds up on Thursday.

The players are to reassemble at the NHS on Sept 2 after a seven-day break in order to appear in the trials.

The players will attend only one session on Thursday morning. The second phase is to continue till Eid-ul-Fitr.

Meanwhile, as a part of its other preparations for the qualifiers, the PHF has arranged matches with some second-rated teams of Europe including France, Poland and Belgium. The complete schedule of the matches will be announced later.

The qualifiers are scheduled to be held in Nov this year.
