HBL, KESC in basketball final

KARACHI, April 10 Former national champions, Habib Bank and the KESC set up a title clash after registering crushing victories over their opponents in the two semi-finals of the NBP President's Cup basketball tournament at Arambagh floodlit court on Friday evening.

Internationals Falak Farid and Zahid Ahmed guided the bankers to post 88-41 victory over Mirpurkhas. The two players were brisk in shooting to equally shared 66 points of the team's total after they led 44-22 at half time.

Haris Hussain and Asad Ali scored eight points apiece for Mirpurkhas who had stunned Navy in the quarters the other day.

Earlier, KESC faced little resistance while getting the better of District South Whites 54-29. The winner led 30-14 at interval.

Dilawar Khan and Jawaid Khan were outstanding for winners with 13 and 12 while Hammad scored 17 for losers.
