Asian Snooker: `Asif, Sajjad capable of good show`
KARACHI, April 27 Pakistan coach Bilal Mughal said on Monday that Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Sajjad are capable of producing good results in the 25th Asian Snooker Championship which will be held in China from May 2 to 10.
Meanwhile, a five-member Pakistan squad which also includes Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association president Alamgir Shaikh (delegate), secretary Munawar Shaikh (manager) and Shabbir Daruwala (referee) will fly out to China.
“The two [Asif and Sajjad] have the potential of reaching the knockout stage and beyond if they play to their best,” Bilal Mughal said at the Karachi Gymkhana Billiards Hall.
“Efforts have been made on different areas of their game to improve it,” he commented.
Bilal Mughal was hired by the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) to train the cueists for the silver jubilee continental event.
“It's a rigorous training camp where players have shown motivation and hard work,” he added.
PBSA president Alamgir Shaikh will represent Pakistan at the annual general meeting of the Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports held during the course of the competition. —APP
