Chitral in grip of cold winds

CHITRAL, May 3: Severe cold winds followed by rains lashed the Chitral valley during the last two days, dropping the mercury to zero degree level.

The residents took out warm clothes and woollies to from the chilly winds. All bazaars gave a deserted look on Friday and Saturday.

Thin attendance was witnessed in schools and government offices throughout the district on Saturday.

The winds also disrupted the power supply to Chitral.
