PML-N sweeps Murree

MURREE, May 12: The Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) candidate won both the national and provincial assembly seats of Murree.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi became MNA from NA-50 for the sixth time while the provincial assembly seat was grabbed by Raja Ashfaq Sarwar.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had awarded ticket to Ghulam Murtaza Satti, who had won the seat in 2002. This time, he was the only candidate from the Satti belt but could bagged 57,000 votes against 83,000 votes of Mr Abbasi.—Correspondent
