Two wanted men found dead in Hangu

KOHAT, May 20: The police recovered the bodies of two people, who were wanted in murder and attempted murder cases, from Adam Banda area of Hangu on Monday.

The police said they were informed by the local people about the presence of two bodies in their area.

A police party reached the spot and found the bodies, identified as Mazhar Ali and Taimur. The Hangu police registered case and handed over the bodies to relatives.

SHOT DEAD: A leader of Ashaat-o-Tauheed party was shot dead in Sabzi Mandi area of Kohat city on Monday.

The police said the victim, Fayyaz alias Golono, was attacked by unidentified assailants.

He died instantly. The attackers escaped the area after the killing.

A cousin of the victim lodged a report with the cantt police station nominating Wakil of Garhi Mondan and Tahir Shah for the killing.

KILLED: A man killed his brother after a brawl in Taulanj Jadeed area of Kohat on Monday.

The Gumbat police were told by one Saifullah, father of the deceased, Abidur Rehman, that his son Mohammad Hayat killed his brother with a firearm. The police arrested the accused and started investigation.

RICE SEIZED: The city police seized bags of rice being smuggled to Afghanistan on Hangu road on Monday.

The police said a team during routine patrol on Hangu road stopped a truck number 1714 for checking and found bags of rice in it.

The driver, Saifullah Khan, could not produce permit, saying he was smuggling rice to Afghanistan. The police seized 1,460 bags of rice and impounded the truck.

The city police registered case against the driver and launched investigation.
