PTI draws two more independents

PESHAWAR, May 24: Two more independent members-elect of the Khyber Pakhtunk-hwa Assembly joined Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf on Friday.

After the joining of Malik Qasim Khan Khattak from Karak and Shah Muhammad Khan Wazir from Bannu, the strength of PTI in the House reached 42.

The two announced to join PTI during a meeting with the party’s nominee for the chief minister’s slot, Pervez Khan Khattak, in Peshawar, said a handout issued here.

Malik Qasim said he was impressed by the dynamic leadership of PTI chief Imran Khan and the chief minister nominee Pervez Khattak and reposed full confidence in their leadership.

In the 2008 elections, he became an MPA on the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal ticket.

This time around, he contested election from PK-41 independently after failure to get Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl ticket.

On the occasion, Mr Khattak said PTI would form a stable government in the province after the joining of independent MPAs-elect.

He said independent MPAs-elect were joining the party only due to similar thinking, which would led the province to progress. —Bureau Report
