Villagers kill two brothers near Dadu
DADU, June 8: A mob gathered outside a house on a distress call from inmates in Butra Panhwar village near Dadu shot dead two ‘intruders’ on Saturday.
Police and independent sources said that the alleged intruders, later identified as Abdullah and Nasrullah — stated to be brothers and belonging to the Jamali tribe — forced their way into the house of Sanwan Talpur with intention to commit a robbery in the early hours of Saturday.
They said that the inmates raise a hue and cry attracting a large number of neighbours, who gathered outside the house.
In their attempt to escape arrest or wrath of the villagers, the alleged intruders opened fire wounding one of the villagers, Malook Panhwar, they said, adding that some of the villagers surrounding the house returned the fire killing both of them on the spot.
Johi police collected the bodies and after a post-mortem examination at the Johi Taluka Hospital handed them over to their heirs.
The wounded villager was admitted to the Dadu Civil Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, Allah Jurio Jamali, a cousin of the deceased brothers, rejected the claim that they intended to commit a robbery. Speaking to the media, he argued that they never involved themselves in any criminal activity in the past. He called for an inquiry into the whole episode.
The Johi SHO said the police were investigating the matter and collecting facts to reach a conclusion.
