PCB declares results of LCCA clubs scrutiny

LAHORE, June 12: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) scrutiny committee has declared the results of its scrutiny conducted in the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA), according to which the voting rights of 41 clubs from across the city have been cancelled.

Similarly, seven new clubs have been given voting rights, according to a press release issued by the LCCA interim committee here on Wednesday.

“Voting rights of 41 LCCA clubs have been cancelled, seven new clubs have been given voting rights, Victoria Gymkhana Cricket Club has been declared a fake club, while Shah Faisal and Mughalpura Greener clubs were found absent on the scrutiny day. Moreover, Aamir Memorial Cricket Club was declared disputed due to dual candidate of presidency,” the press release stated.

“Inactive clubs can appeal to Election Commissioner PCB latest by June 17, 2013,” it further stated.

According to the press release, the West Zone, the biggest in the Lahore Region, suffered most as its 23 clubs lost the voting rights. Similarly 12 from North Zone and six from the East Zone lost the voting rights.

Four new clubs have been included in the West Zone, two in the East Zone and one in the North Zone.

Meanwhile, chairman of the LCCA inter-committee Aizad Hussain Sayid said that his committee had not interfered in the working of scrutiny committee as the PCB controlled the scrutiny process.

There are reports that the suspended clubs will stage a protest against the scrutiny at the PCB offices on Thursday.—Sports Reporter
