Snooker to make debut: PBSF names teams for National Games

KARACHI, June 25: World amateur snooker champion Mohammad Asif will represent Punjab in the 32nd National Games being held at Islamabad from June 28 to July 4 under the aegis of interim committee of POA.

To be participated by provincial teams and Islamabad, snooker will make its debut in the 65-year history of Games.

The cueists were picked by the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Federation (PBSF) on the basis of latest national rankings.

According to the PBSF, each team will be represented by three cueists in the team contest.

Besides Asif, the Punjab trio includes former Asian No 2 Mohammad Sajjad and former international Imran Shahzad.

The teams are as follows:

Sindh:Abdul Sattar, Mohammad Ishtiaq, Umair Alam Khan.Punjab:Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Sajjad, Imran Shahzad.Balochistan:Bahadur Khan, Saqib Bashir, Abdul Rehman.Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:Sharjeel Mehmood, Shah Khan, Shafiullah.Islamabad:Ayaz Khan, M. Noman Iqbal, Rashid Mahmood Abbassi.
