19 Ahmadis killed last year: report

LAHORE, April 19: The Jamaat-i-Ahmadiyya Pakistan on Friday issued its annual report for 2012, stating 19 members of the community were killed during the year, making it the highest-ever figure.

The report, issued by party’s spokesman Salimuddin, stated besides targeting of Ahmadi people, their graveyards were also attacked. Their political, social and religious rights were denied, disallowing them even the right to expression.

It stated 19 Ahmadis had been killed during 2012 for their beliefs. Law-enforcement agencies deemed it fit to bow down before extremists rather than proceed against them under the law, it added.

It also urged to repeal all discriminatory laws against the community to eliminate bias from the country.
