Restoration of medical services sought
KARACHI, April 25: Leaders of the Sindh Workers’ Welfare Board on Thursday demanded immediate restoration of medical facilities to about 1,600 employees that they said had been withdrawn a couple of years ago following reports about devolution of the federal government-administered workers’ board to the provinces.
The medical facilities, including OPD and admissions to private hospitals and reimbursement of bills, had almost been withdrawn or kept in abeyance, they said at a press conference.
Chairman and general secretary of the All Pakistan Workers Welfare Boards Employees Union Muntakhib Alam and Syed Musharraf Husain Rizvi, respectively, said that the designated private hospitals had stopped entertaining the board employees across the province over non-payment of huge outstanding bills.
