PTI suspends membership of four in Kohat

KOHAT, April 27: The district leadership of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf has terminated the basic membership of its four members who were contesting elections as independent candidates after they were not awarded party tickets.

It said that these members had been using the party flag and slogans in their election campaign. The head of the breakaway group, Malik Mansoor Bangash, had lost to a tailor master, Hamayun Pehalwan, in the party’s district elections a few months ago.

He did not accept the party decision and was contesting in independent capacity.

The notification to this effect was issued by PTI Kohat district president, Hamayun Pehalwan, and secretary general Sajid Iqbal.

They had restricted Mansoor Khan Bangash, Taj Mohammad Khan, Jasim Saadat and Tahir Ali from contesting the polls.

However, these candidates are contesting in independent capacity from PK-37, PK-38 and PK-39 in violation of the party decision.

The provincial and central leadership of the party has been informed about the decision. — Correspondent
